best BOV location? can i use my stock hoses?

I keep hearing put the BOV closer to the throttle body to increase TB response.. some say put at least 1-2 feet away from TB....

where is it suppose to be?

Also, can I use my stock rubber intake hose instead of running new pipes.. i'm only running 8psi

yes you can use your stock intake rubber hose, it will be just fine..

Lots of people put their BOV's 1-2 feet from the intake pipe, It really doesnt matter that much, I've seen setups with bov's welded right onto the intercooler, and some right on the compressor of the turbo.

My understanding is that on the turbo side of the inter cooler is best.. Reason being the air has more pressure there and will vent faster. Keeping the turbo spooled a little faster. I think it would be hard to find any real performance increase with any mounting location. Heck the rally cars are setup to keep a few psi in the tube when shifting and braking.

Im just going by what I read in sport compact car when they were testing the bov.. I really don't know.. Why would they not have a bov?

a rally car now days uses tiptronic shiting (paddle shifting) i doubt a rally driver even lets off the gas pedal between shifts. and if he doesn't let of the pedal the bov wouldn't see any vacuum anyway. so that is why there is no bov in a rally car.

when they stop maybe, other than that while shifting most turbo's rally cars have are not fluid bearing, they use ceramic ball bearings which aren't affected as much with pressurized air coming back through the system (i.e no blow off valve)

dude rally cars do have blow off valves... I was watching rally yesterday at my girls house on her 55 inch hdtv hehehe
and heard hella crazy ---- when the announcer wasn't talking. like wastegate chatter mmmm I like that sound, and heeeeelllllllllllllllaa blow off valves. hks ssqv's you can set so they dont let taht much air out between shifts.

thats probably what they had... I saw quite a few hks stickers too.
