Default Which bearings to use?

When building an engine for turbo applications, some people say use race bearings in the engine and some say use genuine Honda bearings. I would like to use honda bearings for the crank and use the eagle bearings that come wth the H beam rods. If i used these, would they hold up to high horsepower?

Ive never heard of eagle bearings or any bearings coming with the Eagle H beams. At least mine didnt. I personally went with ACL's all around. Cheaper than honda and they have been around for a long time.

I'm sorry, I thought when you buy forged rods, they came with their own custom rod bearings. I also thought acl had bad clearances

check prices on each, run it around in your head for awhile and buy one of em cuz it doesnt really matter. whatever helps you sleep at night.

Bad clearances are due to the engine builder not giving them enough clearance. IMO bearings are bearings. It's the clearance that matters, and if you don't have those right, it's not going to matter what brand you have anyway.

Gotcha, so watch the clearances on build. I was just worried about durability during high horse power.

On your engine block there are some numbers which correspond with each connecting rod. You need the numbers on the block and the correponding numbers on each rod to get the color for each bearing. If you have the old stock bearings and the color mark on each one is still visible, just order the bearings based on the colors. Make a note of which rod use green, which one use yellow, etc.

Since you are concerned about clearance, do it the right way. Do not use the same color on all rods. Someone on this forum used all green and had problems. Do a search.
