Default ball valve as MBC

I am using a ball valve as an MBC. Well actually I only use it as a bleeder so the boost level will decrease. BUT when I open it up all the way the boost level stayed at the decreased level. IT won't hit 8 psi anymore (RHB5)

any how, I am just going to reattach the wastegate to the turbo w/o the lalve and see what happnes. can anyone see a problem with using a plumbing ball valve as a bleeder/ MBC?

i made myself a basic bleeder valve that goes between the compressor outlet nipple and the wg actuator. 1/4 fpt tee, two 1/4 mpt to 1/8 barb and a needle valve. fully closed it doesn't bleed any pressure and the wg opens at stock setting. unscrew the valve a little bit at a time and it bleeds pressure from going to the wastegate and means more pressure must be built before the wq can see the stock setting. works great and can't see why anyone would buy an electronic boost controller.

an EBC will only let the wastegate see boost to open when it hits the desired setting.

an easy way to solve this is to put a relief valve inline with the wasetgate. so when it hits desired setting the relief valve pops open and will crack the wastegate open quickly.

you would want this because the wastegate slowly opens and this cause lower spool times.

yes using a needle valve inline to the wastegate bottom nipple is the easiest way to bleed off boost, but remember its still gonna see the same CFM because its air. so sometimes u needa make the gap hella small.

also if your using an external wastegate the top nipple can be hooked to the intake manifold and a needle valve inline with that, so the top the wastgate see pressure and holds it closed longer.

any more questions post em.
