Have you lost your mind? You NEVER use birch for this type of pull!

Herculian effort though man, you are the Picasso of fabrication for sure.

I absolutely love this forum, I'm not into building home made turbos, but the creativity is awesome! Nice!

WTF?!?!?!?!?! SHEETMETAL FLANGE for the oil drain?!?!?!?!?!

How does that seal? (It doesn't i'm sure)
You can't even get a bolt down tight cuz the weld is so close to the hole for the bolt.

hahahaha... i remember the days when i couldn't spend 10$ for a flange...

You spend 10$ for the scrap metal, 1$ for the hardware, and $1.50 for the box of cereal you bought for the cardboard gasket....

For my turbo flanges, I spend 12$ on an Ebay flange with shipping and saved hours of cutting, eating cereal, and looking through drawers to find the right bolts...

SOOoooo, you may be more creative, but i'm smarter than you! ]:-> Now i have more time to drink beer and watch you play with your dremel cutting cardboard. Heh Heh Heh

But congrats you got her done...
OH, AND BY THE WAY?!?!?! WHAT THE ---- ARE YOU COVERING UP YOUR POPCORN WELDS WITH HEAT WRAP FOR?!?!?!?!?!?!? take that ------- wrap off, and rock out with your popcorn out!

Those welds look like my ----!

Anyways....true HMT at it's finest. I give you props on hoisting the engine out using a tree. Good thinking especially in the backyard.

The outlet flange gasket is cork, what's being cut with the dremel is FelPro Pro Ramic.
