That solder sucker made my day. I have a shop vac in my living room and I've been trying to think of things I can use it for other than vacuuming. ---- vacuuming, hooray beer.
Looking at the home made gasket reminds me, one thing I don't see many people doing here is the axle grease turbo gasket trick. If you have fairly flat flanges, a thin layer of thick axle grease on the flanges will cook and turn into a good seal.

what axle grease would work for that like strait farm equipment grease or would ford/chevy work? i'd try this for sure
