Here's a "my friend had one" response.

His 94 DC2 was B20/VTEC on 14lbs daily. It ran mid 12's at LACR. He had for over a year until it got jacked.

You haven't been around long enoug like you said you've been, because obviously if have been you'd know hotrex would either infect you with herpes or beat you down with his 'roid induced muscles!

He's probably just mad cause he ordered one of Hotrex's manifolds, and Hotrex sent him herpes instead :-*

I knew the username sounded familiar. I haven't dealt with him for any parts, and I doubt I will ever in the future. Unless I have 3 months to wait for it to arrive.

I am a noob in the sense that I haven't turbo'd a car yet.
I saw what bbka posted, and it was 1 response. I wanted everyone *who has done it* to chime in.
I already know that they can't hold up to boost well. I already know about their design flaw. What I don't know is if everyone that tried it was running 15psi, or if it wasn't tuned right, or if 200whp wasn't enough for them.

I didn't want this thread to turn into drama 101, or high school. I guess its way too late for that.

BTW - thanks to MADMAX for another legit response to my question.

Threads about B20's always end up like this because when somebody (usuallly me) says they are crap, everybody that has a B20 or know's somebody that know's somebody chimes in with "My buddy ran a boosted B20 for 2 years without a problem", but that still doesn't change the facts.

Re: B20 turbo

I know the motor won't handle the kinda boost that would make the car sick. But my car is already too heavy, and is my daily driver. I'm saving the big boost fun for an ef (possibly another crx). But I want to do it right, which leaves me with doing a "dry run" on the b20. So what if it's only at 6psi?

Dude just keep it under like 250whp and you will be fine, I wouldn't go much more than that. You can, but don't be suprised if the sleeves crack. Jeff was making like 300whp when his cracked and Dave tuned another one of his buddies B20's that ended up cracking as well. Doing it right would be not boosting it at all. ---- people even crack the sleeves on high compression all motor cars.
