b18c1 possibly going turbo... couple questions...

I recently bought a 94 GSR, and I was planning on going turbo with it, but then a friend dissuaded me from doing that and going all motor instead. I went with the idea for a few weeks, but I've decided to go back to the turbo idea. I was wondering what was needed for a basic turbo setup-- you know, like the basic things that are to be installed/replaced to make it work. I'm on a semi-tight budget, so this will be done over a matter of months. But I want to start soon, not running much more than maybe 4-5 psi at the MOST, if at all. If anyone could help, that would be mucho helpful. Thanks!

glad you are willing giving turbo a try.

Everything really depends on how much money you have...

If you just want a basic HMT style turbo kit, you might wnat to look into the DSM turbos (the T25 and the 14b). in terms of fuel management, go with DSM 450ccs and uberdata.

I did the same thing as you. Plans changed from all motor set up to turbo. Now im glad I did go turbo.

Parts you need:

1. exhaust manifold(log style, equal runner)$200-$700
2. turbo (t25,t3,t3/t4, anyother junkyard turbo) $50-$800
3. wastegate (only if you don't have an internal) $50-$600
4. intercooler (front mount, side mount) $50-$800
5. blow off valve (dsm, any aftermarket) $25-$300
6. injectors (dsm or aftermarket) $50-$300 DSM inj's require resistor box
7. eng. management (fmu, afc, uberdata etc) $100-$500
8. charge piping (up to you what u want to use) $100-$600
9. oil line kit (stealth mode kit) $75
10. misc. stuff (clamps, hoses etc.)$25-$150

Good luck. 98ctr
