Default B18b turboed now how to regulate oil PSI

I finished the T3/T04e turbo install on my 94' Integra. All gauges are on and operational.

When I had the feed from the oil sending unit ran directly to the turbo I was reading 70psi at idle. I shut it off and designed a new setup.

I routed a feed line up the the top of the engine bay into a T that used to be a manual boost gauge (purchased on ebay)
one end adjusts the air or in this case oil coming in and the other two ports are of course the in and out. To the out side I have another T installed oneside of the T is the oil in, another the oil pressure (manual) line and the out to turbo.

So now with an adjustable valve I start it up. I'm looking good at about 30psi @ idle and 50 at high throttle...then as we wind it down to shut it off the oil psi's start to drop to about 15psi.....

What could be wrong?

read out with feed straight from block.

70psi @ idle
turned car off immediately

here are the read outs as they are noted after the upper engine bay design.

30-40psi @ idle
50-60psi @ high throttle

after warming up

10-20psi @ idle
30-40psi @ high throttle

get back to me!!!

When the motor warms up it is normal for the oil pressure to drop. Nice trouble shooting though!!

So are these reading sufficient?

This turbo setup is essentially a stageI intercooled kit. The design is of course completely custom and "HOMEMADE" It needs to be daily driven in humid temps of 80+ degrees.

I understand that too much pressure can cause seal leakage and too little pressure will cause catastrophic failure of engine components.

If these readings are ok then we are taking the car for a dyno run. Please get back to me.

I've read that thread before but I need some more in depth info.

We just got done here at: 3:23am :in the morning with our test run on the lonely interstate. Boost is good, Air Fuel ratio staying in the green but oil pressure is recorded again at:

5-15psi @ idle
30-40psi @ high throttle

These numbers are kinda scaring me since I don't want to starve vital parts of oil. We are running FULL SYNTHETIC mobil one so I at least have that comfort as far as lubrication.

I have adjusted the control valve to full open with no effective gain in oil PSI recorded.

Please let me know any standard vitals that have been boost proven, and if you can, offer me a way out of this issue.

get back to me...

What size is the oil line? I use a -4 and no valve, just straight to the turbo. I have noticed a bit of oil in the intake manifold, but no smoke. I don't think 15 psi is too low for a turbo. It doesn't need a whole lot of oil. It just needs a constant supply of it. As long as it never drops to 0 you should be just fine.
