Search aint working right now.

I picked up an Audi 5000 external wastegate.

On the top it appears there is an OIL in, but no out?

Any clue anyone?

Thanks

Yeah, they are missing a few pictures.

I hooked mine up today to a pressure regulator and I have the 4 psi wastegate. One thing missing from those threads was wether a MBC could be used with them for boosting over 20 psi?

I will have to hook up an MBC and a pressure regulator and see. I have the time.

some are adjustable from the factory, remove the brass plug on the top of the gate by drilling it out. Thread a m10x1.25?? (honda bellhousing bolt) into the top of it and if it pushes down, your golden. I was

Took mine apart.

Was/is not adjustable.

So....

Instead I will mill up aluminum inserts that I can "insert" and bench test for pressure.....

I will take photos.... But it may be a few days.

I did the insert thing.....

It raised it a few psi, max of 7 psi. but... It makes it so the valve cannot open as much. So its not a great fix....

However, on the top of the wastegate is a small vacumn nipple. The wastegate is actuated by a BIG tube.... So I am thinking that the vacumn/boost nipple is to be used to control the wastegate psi.

I think that instead of hooking up the MBC to the main vacumn/boost line, you would hook it up to the top smaller one. And then use the MBC in REVERSE! So you would allow boost to enter the top of the chamber and fight the force of the boost entering the lower chamber. Basically you would be adding boost via the MBC versus bleeding the boost. Make sense?

I have some pressure regulators and an extra MBC and will rig this up and see if it works.
