Default arrrgh!!!!!!!

so i finally get snap ring pliers so i can clock my turbo (tdo4 from 02 wrx). first of all they were 30 bucks and suck ----. they said heavy duty and looked pretty good, but the handles broke (usually the tips break). then, i clock the center section 180 so the oil feed is on top and clock the compressor 90 so the outlet faces down for charge pipes. well, now i'm going to have to seriously modify my wastegate or go with a ghetto spring. i'm still trying to get this mounted and keep my ac, but i'm starting to doubt that will work. i want to boost now. i was having fun designing homemade kit, but it is taking a long time. just venting...ok i'm done now.

Can't you turn the turbo enough to miss the a/c? The oil return doesn't have to be perfectly pointing down. It can be tilted slightly to avoid obsticles.

Also if you clock the exhaust and intake the same amount the wastegate will still bolt on and line up. Unless you mean you ran into clearance problems now. Also I believe you can tilt the turbo up to 30 degrees and still have it drain properly.

You can always make a custom bracket for the wastegate, also. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!!!

got it clocked better now. decided to clock it and run the cold side pointing up and will loop the charge pipe around. i'm going to have to make custom bracket for wastegate, but shouldn't have too much problem. the damn ring pliers i got just sucked. pep boys getting them back tomorrow.

Interesting.. I hope you plan to keep the turbo level or you will have problems..

it's going to be mounted to standard manifold oil feed on top and drain straight down. the only difference is the compressor discharge is pointing up so that it will clear the ac compressor. i'll be moving the condenser fan to the front of the condenser. what problems are you thinking about?
