i usually just get out the 1 inch drive impact and hammer till the head snaps off. .

use your impact tighten them down until you see the socket slowing alot, then give it that last 'tat tat tat' so it's torqued

3 tats equals proper torque spec. always. all i have is my one inch impact so i just use a few adapters. works out well.

every tat past socket slowing is 5-6 ft lbs.

i dont understand how people have the headstuds and the information to get the job done and still need to make a post. if arp says to go to a certain spec follow manufacters recommendations. 10lbs is not much and can be ran on stock headbolts. if arp says to go less with lube its simply because the lube reduces the friction and will give a lower torque reading. on any fastener, most of the torque being applied to the bolt or stud is overcoming the friction between the threads, the rest is bringing the bolt to its maximum stretch limit. just install the headstuds and torque them in steps in sequence. arp may specify different specs for a dry torque or a lubricated torque. i used the moly lube and torqued to 60 ft lbs and had boost spikes to 15lbs and never have a problem at all.

I guess I had read about 20 threads on various boards stating different specs. That confused the ---- outta me and I choose to give my favorite, friendliest board on the net a shout to see what their thoughts were. Did I have the instructions and do they say 60 ft lbs? Yessur.....did dude who posted SAY he called ARP and they told him totally different specs than what came in my studs? Yep. Hence the source of my confusion.

As always this board shows its high level of knowledge, thanks all. I will call ARP Monday AM to get the specs, and will torque accordingly.

actually ---- it, i will use my impact and put sayyyyyy, 75 tat tat tat's on it, that should do it.
