anyone running an air filter on a 14b / hf combo... ?'s
I was wondering how anyone with a 14b turbo is running an air filter. the compressor housing is 2" and all the filters i can find are 3"...is there a reducer pipe that extreme that i dont know about....or are there 2" filters you can buy?
i got my stealthmode oil lines today...just waiting on a 2.5" flex pipe and we will be ready for installation.
(the filter is just insurance....its not going to keep me from finishing the install)
any pictures you have of the 14b/hf installed would be appreciated....i still need ideas on the proper rotation combination for mounting the wastegate, and the easiest way to aim the j-pipe.
also, i know it is recommended to run the coolant lines. are there "nipples" like the oil return that you can use? i have 1 of the stock dsm coolant lines, and it doesnt really clear the housing...so i cant use it.
Thanks for your help.

check out the turbo projects link on the side over there, 99% of the people running hf/14b setups run a filter. just get a 2" to 3" coupler, then a piece of 3" pipe, and a 3" coupler.
i didnt think to go silicone...i was trying to find a 2" to 3" metal reducer....not successful. i guess cause i already have a 2" coupler and a 3" coupler....oh well ill have to buy another one. thanks.

Here is the best filter you can get, tried and true by me for a year
It also requires zero room to fit.
Get some aluminum screening (screen door material) and put that over the inlet. Then get some pantyhose and fold it so you have about 8 layers of it, put that on top of the screening. Clamp with a hose clamp and you're good to go. Flows awesome, filters great.
