Anyone have any experience with Summit's turbo mufflers?
Has anyone ever tried one of Summit's turbo mufflers? I just went down to Summit and I saw them there for $15 so I figured what the hell, why not. I wont be using it for a few months though, so I'm just curious if anyone has any input...Heres a link to it and a pic http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp
No experience, but for that price, you cant go wrong with a muffler. If your asking about sound, youll have to let us know, performance isnt going to change much from just a muffler.
I just want a muffler that isnt 7" diameter and chrome and i want something that doesnt sound like total rice. Summit also claims 21 HP gains over the leading competetors muffler so I'm curious how they sound and/or perform
i have a summit muffler (same one) and im about to install it on my crx, ghetto-d has one it sounds fine (not ricey or anything and it still has a great air flow)
My friend had one on his '83 280zx turbo. Flowed decent, although as Summit mentions, the 3" inlet/outlet ones do NOT keep the pipe diameter 3" all the way through like the smaller ones do. It's closer to a 2.5" in/out muffler with a 3" adapter on each end.
He had no cat, no resonator, and 3" piping straight back to the muffler though, and it was pretty loud. He liked the sound a lot though. (I thought it was a little too resonant, but that's just me - I like a quieter exhaust, personally)
