Default Anyone had any luck un-siezing a turbo?

I just bought a "new" car that has a VNT turbo on (read... no lag) and the damn thing siezed on the way home! anyone have anyluck unsiezing a turbo, ever? any tips? thanks guys.

you can hit it with a hammer because its probably junk anyway

i was able to un-seize one once. it was on some junk chrysler t3 so i didn't give a ---- about it anyways. it was in a vice w/ the compressor housing off and this guy somehow made it fall out of the vice and it landed on the concrete right on the shaft and it was siezed. i hit the shaft on the other side w/ a hammer and it was good to go again. dunno if that's anywhere close to what you're talin about, but might as well whip out the BFH. it actually helps sometimes.
