Anyone ever try turboing a probe gt....

I'm speaking of 2nd gens of course...first gen gt's are stock turbo
But i was thinking about getting one just as a project car, i would keep my daily driver and then just work on this one whenever i have the time...I've looked into it and it seems that there is a real big issue with space and i was wondering if anyone knows anyone who has tried it and knows how difficult it would be.
Thanks in advance for any responces.

well most of the people who turbo probes move the battery to the trunk and even then it is still pretty tight but it frees up a lot of room

it'd probably be easier to twin turbo that ---- since its a v6 but it's an ---- probe so I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

I have seen one turbo'd, it was a pretty elaborate set up from what I remember and the guy claimed to be making almost 400HP. Not worth the effort IMO though.

for your info a probe v6 gt five speed is faster than a integra gsr five speed .. not sayn i like them but they do have potential yes you can turbo them alot of people have but i would just buy the old skool probe turbo .. 2.4 litre with a ihi its a nice setup and those little motors can handle some abuse (p.s. dont make me show you stats) ;)

see...for a while i always thought they were and then i picked one up for dirt cheap and needless to say i loved it, i ended up selling it because it had around 150k miles on it to buy a saab, but now i wanna get another one and i have seen some people who have turbo'd them and they have some nice poetential
yea...the most common placement of the turbo(well atleast the easiest way) requires you to modify the crossmember and then unless you somehow sneak a sidemount in there has you running your charge pipes back across the front of the engine to go to the intake manifold, so i wanna look into it a little more

These cars turboed are quick as hell, My buddy owns this, he's a very smart guy, everything was rebuilt, the engine has full aftermarket internals and everything was fabbed by him.

This thing is nuts, last year he was running 12.6 on slicks, this year its getting some more work done and he hopes to be in the 11's.

Ya, but from what I've heard the engines maybe fast but reliable as ----. They were complete lemons. I have a a few freinds who have had them (Probes and MX-6 same motor) and the engines couldn't take a beating in any way!
