Anyone do any ghetto things for gaskets...
Anyone tried to use copper RTV or something like that for exhaust gaskets. I was just wondering if it actually will work or should I just spend the $30 bux for the new gaskets on the exhaust manifold, adapter plate and downpipe. Also, anyone know any cheaper places to get gaskets? Thanks for any help.

My friend tried it...it worked he just used SILICONE RTV he bought one that should hold up to 750 F It did it's job, but he used his old broken gasket with it,,he just filled up the bad spot.
The Copper gasket would hold better I guess.
For the downpipe I would just use the copper gasket if it leaks no worry's for the adapter plate...well get sum gasket mats and make your own

i used that so called high temp gasket material that you get from a auto parts store and i already have a leak in my turbo to O2 housing gasket, maybe that's why i'm not getting any more then 2psi......hmmm, maybe i should fix that this weekend.
so what was said to be the ghetto gasket material of choice? i have a small piece of sheet metal laying around, should i use that or get a piece of tin? should i use the high temp gasket sealer with it?
