Default Any way to check if 14b shaft is straight?

hey I just tore down my 14b and I am pretty sure I didn't bend the shaft while taking it apart (Used a vice on the turbine nut and held the wrench close on the compressor nut) but I wanted to know if there's any way to make sure before I rebuild it. I don't want to finish the turbo install and have the turbo kill itself in 5K miles. any help would be much appreciated!!!!

One more thing I want to rotate the compressor housing so it points downward instead of up, is there anything wrong with grinding off the locater pin? it should be fine right? I know the WG actuator won't bolt on easily after that.

yea cut away. Just make sure its a light cut, id use a hand held grinding tool. You can just use a regualr spring to actuate the wastegate. Thats what my friend does and it works fine. Just make sure you test it out and its on there good before u boost away to infinity and blow ur motor. To test if the shaft is straight you can usually just eye it.. if it looks straight and u know u didnt twist it then ur fine. Just to be safe when u get it rebuilt see if u could have the shop ur buying the kit from look at it, dont let them lie to u you just so they can make $ of u, go to honest people

no way in hell u can tell, were dealing with tolerences like .1mm in the bearings so no u wont see it unless u really bent the hell outta it.

also make sure u marked the turbine and the shaft when u took it apart. then itll be in balance when u put it back toghther, if you didnt you will prolly be fine dont ---- the bed.
