cause they're trin to test which car is makin the most power or is faster i guess.

i bet that vette would smoke all those cars, because with a hard launch even on the tires that come on it. its like 2 spins and instant hook. the tires are so big and tall

He did take it to a dyno, it was 400 something I'll try to get the right numbers this weekend. I think he did trap around 117 when he did a 12.8 but that was the old setup. The 12.7 was at only 109 cause he get off it at the 1000ft mark. March 27th its going down the track for the first time with the new setup and we're hoping to do some good times. The car is 100% better than the old setup and it just flies.

What SHO has is running the fastest 1/4 mile time and what is it?

I would have never thought a SHo would put down such amazing numbers. I'm glad to see some variety. Who would have thought a SHO would be so damn quick.

Does anybody have a gutted SHO? I wonder what you can get them down to?

Also, the 3rd gear blowing out, is that with the manual or the auto? I'm assuming manual? That's strange.

our SHO is gutted hard but we never weighed it. The 3rd gear is on the manuals and we only blew out the gear once. It seems like those drivetrans are weak as ----. We snapped input shafts, countless axles and about 3 diffs until the Quaife.

You can make anything fast as long as you have the time and patience to put it together and get it to run. Its all on whatever gets you off.

People are always surprised by the numbers the boosted SHO's can put down. When you consider though that you have a 3.0L 24V DOHC V6 DESIGNED by Yamaha, then you're gonna have a great motor to work with. Add in the fact that the heads have been tested and shown that they flow just as well or better than a 2JZ-GTE Supra head, then you have some serious air to work with.

As for the weak tranny, it was built by mazda, and meant for some much lower horsepower cars originally, they just updated a few parts here and there. 3rd gear is not on the main shaft, and takes alot of the abuse and torque, and so fails often. Plus the open diff is VERY weak, the only solution for that being the quaife LSD.

The SHO is just a great sleeper, and some think they're ugly, I think they look awesome.
