I agree, but I have needed the exo on two occasions now, where if I didn't have a cage I would have destroyed my roof, and possibly my noggin. One case was a run in with a tree, the other was a close call with a shelf that was taller than the truck. I haven't flopped or rolled it yet, and I don't plan to until the cage is finished. Several of those pieces are just tacked up.

I have a body lift on the truck so I have plenty of room toward the top of the motor to work with.
being able to fit an intercooler may be a good idea. a water to air with a remote cooler would be really good. The engine bay probably gets heatsoaked pretty bad from running all day with basically no airflow.

as you can see the inlet for the charger is after the TB, and comes in the bottom (it has a manifold to direct it to the back) and the outlet comes out the top. That runs to the intercooler, then it runs back to the back of the charger and down into the intake manifold hiding under the charger. That might be hard to fit, but if you built a cusom charger outlet it could mount directly to the top of the charger (stick it over the right valve cover) and across the top, and through a w/a core housed inside a box mounted above and connected to the stock intake manifold. Then you would need to either relocate the TB or install a recirculated BOV.

Thanks for those pictures, now that I've seen that I can definitely visualize that fitting in my engine bay. I have quite a bit of room above of the motor, but I might not have enough to mount it directly above the intake manifold. I might be able to mount it to the passenger side, either that or hack up the hood somehow. One of the problems I will run into is lack of room as my build gets further along, with or without the SC. I am planning to run dual alternators, and a pulley driven York air compressor for on board air.

You are probably right about a water to air intercooler, the engine bay gets ridiculously hot. I am working on that though, planning to do header and exhaust wrap and a bit of heat shielding to try to lower temps a bit.

From what I've heard these things are going for around $200 or so on ebay, and they should be fairly easy to find at the junkyard. Wheels are turning in my head.

I have wanted to try ROM editing, I've wanted to get my feet wet with that for a long long time. This might be a good opportunity to start burning chips.

Nissan ecm's are a bit tricky to do. They require a daughter board with twin 2*c256 chips, with half of the program burned to each. At least the 240sx/silvia one's do.

Maybe if you ran the Z31 fuel system AND management with a piggy back for fuel correction

not all nissan ecu's require a daughterboard, just the more popular ka24de/sr20de boards, sohc ka24e's are similar to obd0/1 honda ecus in socketing and tuning.

My brother deviousKA runs this website: http://www.eccs.hybridka.com

it is devoted to tuning nissan ecu's, i'm sure you could find some sort of an answer on it
