Default Another BOV question.

Yesterday a mate installed his BOV the vacum line was taken off the manifold.
He was complaining about the lag it was creating i.e. eveytime he accelrated it would open the BOV. Boost would eventually build and close it. But the car was faster without the Bov.

I explained my fix to the problem i.e. measure all your possible Vacum sources. For us there are a total off four options 1 on the manifold and 3 from the carb.
Measure each and find the weakest one. Use that for the BOV. As this way it only sends a vacum signal to the BOV if its a really big vacum. THe diffirence in vacum between the carb signal and the Manifold is over 200%. (Have the values writen down somewhere).

Anyway the reason for this this post was is there some way that we can prevent the BOV from opening when we accelrate. And get it to open only when we lift our leg off the accelrator.
Sorry if this has been discused beofre but its a really naging problem.

Well, a BOV will always be open when in vacuum. It closes under boost, and when you lift off the throttle (vacuum), it releases the pressure. Sounds like a bad vacuum source or something is fucked up with the BOV.

sounds like a shitty BOV, it should close as soon as it sees alittle bit of vacumn.

just get a 2nd gen Mr2 bov. trust me, you wont be dissapointed.

My BOV is off a SAB, my mates BOV is off a Benz.
Looking into how an electronic BOV works or if possible to do something there.

FIt a plastic hose to BOV and fit a whistel into hose. You will hear the Bov open every time you accelrate.
