Well, I know ppl like to flame threads with pics of parts, but I wanted to show some of the process I've been makin' with my setup, and let ppl know that I'm not just here talkin' ---- and not even workin' towards boostin' a car....
1st of all, the car in question.... Attachment 25840 AFC NEO set-up in car(already wired up to and controllin' 499cc SRT-4 injectors(thanx to REXSK8TER for tha help)... Attachment 25841 Custom 2.5" dp by Big J... Attachment 25842 .50 trim T3/T04e from Blaast w/ Autoboost cast manifold and Tial 38mm wg.... Attachment 25843 30"x8"x3.5" FMIC from CXracing... Attachment 25844 Apexi Twin Chamber BOV, lil bling 4 yo assss... Attachment 25845 Last, BUT NOT LEAST, the infamous CSpecRun... Attachment 25846 I have pics of the IC mounted and all the cold side charge piping fabbed up and painted gloss black, but my ol' lady didn't send those pics to our photobucket so OH WELL. Also have the BOV flanged and mounted, as well as my boost gauge...All I'm lackin' is to actually bolt up the manifold/turbo/wg assembly, have the exhaust fabbed up, and run hotside charge pipes, oil/water send and returns and tune the car...Hope to have it all up and running by the end of this month, and have the whole setup/car cleaned up presented for the big Nopi show in Atlanta in September...I know that is a haven for ricers and big balla's, I just wanna cruise up 2 chill while packin' some REAL 4 cylinder muscle under the hood...I hope to make between 275-300hp w/ the 7.25psi spring that is in the wg @ this time...Thanks to REXSK8TER and Big J for all the help so far...I'll post more pics and results of the experiment once she's finished...PEAAAACE |

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, in the worx...
Looking good, I take it the fitting you had was NPT. Make sure you block of the tube from the valve cover to the intake manifold or you'll get a surge at idle and wandering AFR's. I shoved a large rubber vaccum cap in the tube and hooked it back up.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, in the worx...
I love the look of the V's then boosted only adds to the fun.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, in the worx...
i had someone in a '06 se-r do a ripper on me last night on 79, im just coasting along at 83ish, and the ricer blows past at a good 120-130.
wonder if he got pulled over |

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, in the worx...
filter on the side that went to the plastic intake hose. You can put a filter on the other nipple and cap off the PCV nipple on the intake manifold OR block off the hose going from the valve cover to the manifold. I shoved a large vaccum cap in the hose and left it connected

Well, ALOT of hard work and money(roughly $2500) has gone into this but I believe it's gonna be worth. I'll give the official rundown of the setup...
2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV QR25DE-T Blaast t3/t04e .50 trim w/ .48 a/r exhaust turbine Autoboost cast iron manifold 2.5" DP & 1.75" open dumptube by BIG J 30" x 8" x 3.5" FMIC(Ebay special) 2.5" charge piping via Racing Solutions Apexi twin chamber BOV Apexi NEO SRT-4 499cc injectors 2.5 BAR Motorola map sensor(WILL be utilized if we didn't fry it 2day) CDM boost gauge I'M NOT A COMPLETE IDIOT, SOME PARTS ARE MISSING... GOT TO THANK my friend Shawn a.k.a REXSK8TER for helping me out with this. There's NO WAY I COULD'VE DONE IT BY MYSELF. I have a whole new respect for ANYONE who takes it upon themselves to turbocharge a non-turbocharged factory car without dropping it off at a shop and payin' someone else a $1K to put it on for them. LOTS of hard work involved. We started at 1:30-2ish Saturday afternoon and finished about 3:00 that next morning. Car was leaking a little oil and we had to scrub some corrosion of the negative battery terminal, but other than that the car fired right up. ANYWAYS, check it out... Attachment 25186 Attachment 25187 Attachment 25188 Attachment 25189 Not really pushing the car into boost right now, because we run into some problems with running the throttle setting on the AFC off of the 2.5 MAP sensor. I hope to get all that sorted out within' the next couple of days. BUT the car idles fine and drives great in vacuum, which was my MAIN concern for right now since this is my daily driver, and my ass has to be back at work at 6 o'clock in the mornin'. Have a JAW wideband on the way as well, so that will help with the tuning process. Running a open downpipe as of right now, sounds pretty sick with that .50 trim singin' her pertty song. Will keep you updated when the car is boostin' safely. Might can even post some ripper vids....and I ain't talkin' about 2nd gear chirps :6 P.S. Isn't it about time the mods showed the SOUTH some front page love?? :-\ |
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
damn, i didnt think youd have any photos up that fast. anyways, im glad everything went according to plan... so to speak.
im really surprised we got everything done as quickly as we did. im ready to get this sucker tuned, and maybe take a trip down to thomasville and strap that SOB on the dyno. if i remember its $80 bucks for 3 pulls with afrs anyways, im on my g/fs computer, so if you have a site i can pull info from to find out where to get that 5v signal from, pm me with it. another HMT setup about to be putting down #'s |

Wanted to update with some better pictures of the car itself. Setup itself hasn't really changed other than modifying my PCV and throwing in a optima red top. Also remounted my boost gauge, it fits inside one of those MSD coil brackets PERFECTLY. Anyways, check it out...

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
Looks good besides the muffler setup in the back. I think tossing some flat black paint on the IC would look better also.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
I dunno. all that gloss black then a crude ass crooked muffler. i sorta like it. I totaly agree that the IC needs a healthy coat of flat black though.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
Yeah, the exhaust setup was just something to be a little different...That's actually a moroso spiral flow muffler...I think they normally use those on V8's, it was cheapo in the jeg's catalog that I still get from my 5.0 days, so I said what the hell...I liked the bling factor of the IC, but it's getting a few bent fins here and there, and the bug guts show pretty bad as well after awhile, I'm probaly gonna black it out in the near future.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
Can we get a vid please. I wanna hear it, my boys spec v is naturaly asphexiated but it has a Nismo header and tanabe 2.5" "race" exhaust (I dont remeber teh name race medailion or some ----. its like a straight shot) and man does that car sound ------- sexy. awesome sounding motor.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
^^^^ I'll see what I can do. I have a digicam, but I need someone to ride along and film. You are NOT gonna drive this car hard and hold a a camera @ tha same time...

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
Nissan Sentra, even Nissan knew the design of that generation was ugly.
Other than the car and its crappy engine good clean setup |
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
hmmmmmm, I don't know...I really LIKE the way the car looks, and I get waaay more compliments on it being a nice car. Never had anyone say "hey, that's a pretty ugly ------' car you have there", and I say that to people allll the time. :y

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
nice car!
where did you get that lil filter for your turbo? I've seen some like that on ebay for like $100 >:( Please tell me theres a place to get them for a sane price. |

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
ACTUALLY, that bullshit ass filter does come from advanced vato parts. There like $19 or so, but there not GREAT quality. It gets the job done, I buy a new one ever 6 months or so. The rubber inlet likes to try and come out of the filter itself.

Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
Take off the stickers, for the added sleeperness. :6
Plus without the stickers its like +15hp. :1 |
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
another 2 years or so and i might be inclinded to pick one oup for cheap and see how long it will hold boost before exploding or making me build it. I think the 02's are very sexy, something about that goofy blocky front bumper is hot.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
02 03 are identical. the 02's have a higher gear ratio, which suck. thats the only difference.
|
Re: ANOTHER boosted V, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED....sorta
The 02 and 03 cars definitely have a better looking front bumper IMO...I'm pretty sure you can convert the 04-06 to the earlier front end, but it's not something I'm gonna worry about doing. There's a guy down in Louisiana who does the VQ swap into the SE-R. He builds turbo setups too, and he claims to have made either(I can't remember the EXACT #) 340 or 360hp with an Altima junkyard engine(same 2.5 that is in the SE-R). I think the engine lasted the better part of a year before it bent or broke a rod.
