Rip it out. i bought an ac logn manifold and couldnt get it to work even with a slim pusher fan./.. not worth the hassle

Hey, I drive a 1989 Civic Std. 4sp, no p/s, no a/c. Those things are for suckers. The last car I drove with p/s was an '88 Prelude, and that was like 2 years ago. Last car with A/C... None =P.

 

Leave the power steering alone. My 94 yota pickup didn't have it and my 98 civic has it. Big difference. And for the 2 HP it robs you won't notice it.

As for the real issue the A/C, I would hate to remove it on my car because it is handy for defogging the windows and cooling off, especially if it works perfectly. But you can do either:

1) Rip the AC system out and sell it on E-bay. You could get $100-$200 for it probably.

2) Buy an A/C compatible manifold or fab one up.

power steering only makes a noticeable diffrence at a standstill, while moveing you can turn the wheel just as easy, i prefer cars without power steering as well, if your too much of a ----- and dont have any strength in your arms to turn the wheel at a stand still then yea it matters, otherwise not really
