Default aluminum filling an open deck worth it ?

hey well im bringing my engine to my machinist tommarow and he keeps insisting to let him fill the block, the way he does it is he fills the prestone gap with that liquid aluminum crap, then when its dry puts a gasket on and drills out all the holes in other words making my engine closed deck i figger. hes charging 240 to do it.. is it actually worth doing ? and will i have any heat issues? this is for a d16 from 300-350whp. with vitaras on scats. so is this overkill or do i really need it thx again.

There is a ton of information in that thread. It isn't just a write-up.
