Default Alot of Oil on my plugs ?!

i changed out my plugs yesterday to colder from honda, when i pulled out the ones i had in there, #4, #2 and #1 plugs were Drenched in oil on the lower side (electrode side) in 1 of the cylinders when i pulled the plug wire ooil came out of it alot i figure thats the valve cover gasket.

also my car smokes like hell when i first run it or idle too long when im driving the smoke goes away after a bit. is that normal? its some thick clouds i know that its the oil burning off the plugs, but where is the oil coming from ?

Do a compression test.

Your rings might be shot

I just don't see how a bad valve cover gasket would cause oil on the electrode side...

you mean the side of the spark plug that goes into the the combustion chamber right? If that's the case then I'm confused; definately get a compression check just to set you mind at ease, the only causes for oil on the electrodes would be cylinder rings or valve stem seals(my guess), or a head gasket.
In other words you would need hella blowby or a popped head(white exhaust smoke) or worn valve stem seals to get to the sparkplugs.

If it's on the other end of the sparkplug(the part that the plug wires connect to); it's the seals around the sparkplug holes themselves. They come in seperate from the valve cover gasket or you can just buy a kit=$15

Your sparks will seal out the oil from your valve cover, even if the o rings are bad. You have bad rings, blow ringlands, or oil dumping into your charge pipe/intake manifold.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33665

that fixed my problem

when i removed my valve cover, i didn't properly place it back with all the seals aligned, so some were ripped, that was why i ask did he ever removed his valve cover....not that it has anythin to do with it directly.

Well they were shot you would have low compression,it wouldnt run strong but it would run.If they were that bad to fill the cylinders with oil it would just put along.

How does the motor feel?

Could be valve seals also .
