Mitsu 16G is a small turbo - small across the turbine. You bottle neck the turbine, the engine can't shed heat, and knock limit goes down. A bigger laggier turbo - you can go from something that creates 10 psi free revving (16G) to a laggy straight T3 w/ .63 AR that spools at 3000 rpms - making more power at more "psi" is invariably safer. Whatever "psi" has to do with anything, anyway...

You cant even see the oil drain... the turbo is water and oil cooled so you are looking at a water line in the pic. The oil return is lower under the turbo . So you are saying that a smaller turbo can create a running problems for the motor in your opinion? The only problem I have with mine, which I think is due to bad injectors is a slightly rough idle. Do you think this could be the turbo?

I don't know much about these but I know my buddy bought a 420a clipse that was already built. Made 295 on 20psi on the Star stage 2 kit. Thousands of dollars later, that is pathetic
