I couldnt fit a cone filter...but I am a bit of a worrier. So I just got the flex pipe and the cone filter was a free-bee

hmmm if the A/F meters are crap...then why the ---- are they being build ?, and why does everyone recommend a a/f ratio meter ?

I was planning to do the fuelmapping with the help of some dyno runs.

But another question, if i use a wideband.....than i don't have to go to the dyno to know what to adjust in my fuel maps ?
And what ratio is safe for idle...and what ratio is safe for full trottle ? (without a needless thirsty car, I'm just a 19jr student in university mechanical engineering)

 

Narrowband o2 sensors are not a reliable source to tune a vehicle with. Just because it is being sold doesn't mean it is a good product.

If you want to paint a pretty picture on a dyno and use their wideband that will work, but you're better off buying your own wideband kit and tuning yourself. They aren't that expensive and are a grat tool to have around. I recommend the www.zeitronix.com kit, especially if you already own a laptop.

It sounds like you need to do some more research. Some of your questions are a bit "noobish".

a/f meters aren't crap. they're just not accurate to tune with since they don't have numbers, just lights. if your car is running lean you will be able to tell a difference with a a/f meter though. i know you guys say they suck but i saw a difference in my a/f before and after tunning.

 

Even if they had "numbers" they still aren't accurate. Sometimes I think my car is aftser after I wash it, but it's not.

hmm I'm doing research all i can, and yes I am a nooby. It's my first non-turbo car, that I'm going to turbocharge. (within a certain buget).

Also helping my brother to restore his porsche 924 turbo engine. Im learing from that too, but is a turbo car stock. (finally putting everything together ).

I also think it's good to have good equipment for yourself (My brother and I just bought a shitload of Facom and snappon tools once and for all), but if i don't know enough about chipping itself, and changing fuelmaps, the thing is pretty useless to me.

If i knew exactly what i was doing regaring the chipping i would buy one.

 

Research will fix that.

yes i can see that, but im pretty ------- bad with computers etc. I can understand most of the theory but a lot of terms are used and im still finding out what those mean. (Im dutch so....)

I'm more in control technique of industrial machines etc.
