aftermarket intake mani?
r these any good with a turbo setup or are they pointless, it seems better air flow but i donkt know? o and, are aftermarket fuels rails a waste of money too?

i always thought an aftermarket intake manifold would do you good, n/a or forced induction. ---- i'm trying to get one for my D16a6. skunk2 makes em now for the sohc vtec...does anybody know if it will still fit?

Aftermarket intake manifolds are better in flow.they generally have larger bodies and shorter runners.not like the long stock runners on ours.aftermarket fuel rails are a waste of money..imo.

Generally ( I said GENERALLY !! ) the intake manifold swap will lose some torque in exchange for more top end HP..
Cams are like that most the time too. I'm happy with stock Y8... |

as far as fuel rails.. I got a billet aftermarket one for my b18 for $50. Although it doesnt directly provide any performance increase, it does have a couple advantages.
it has a tapped port right next to the fuel pressure regulator for a gauge which comes in handy so it doesnt have to be on the fuel filter. It also has a tapped plug in the end that im using to run a fuel line to my fuel solenoid for a wet nitrous setup. Plus, it looks a little better than the cheesy stock b18a1 fuel rail lol. |

stock fuel rails are good to about 400hp... Unless you really need a high end piece with different fittings spend your money on a nice intake mani

ok intake mani's are ok, depending if u want torque or top end hp? and basically fuels rails are cosmetic to a point

Since most stock fuel rails are smaller diameter, they will provide larger percent differences in fuel pressure per cylinder. On my car (dunno if it's the same for a Honda engine) fuel enters my fuel rail from one side, and my aeromotive fpr is at the other. When I tune, I tune my cylinder closest to the FPR the leanest, knowing that the other cylinders get more fuel. Basically, on an aftermarket one, the cyliders will have more equalized fuel pressure.
