Adding a 50shot in 7psi

My freind has a spare used zex wet kit he is giving me. I'm currently running 7psi on a gt17 on a d16a1 built block. I'd like to toss in the zex for a day at the track since my tuner went missing and no one wants to tune obd0 around here.

1 Do i need to up the fuel pressure? (I'm at 45psi on DSM450ccs)
2 55 shot should be fine without a retune right?
3 (I currently have bkr7e-11 gapped at .28 on 7psi) change in plugs and/or gap?

Its just to try it out until i can afford a professional obd1 conversion and retune.

Wet should be fine tune wise... I wouldnt attempt it without race gas, a decent tune on race gas, and for sure a wideband.

Well I only use 93 for the boost (same when tuned) but when Im going to spray it at the track I will be using the 103 octane. I currently have a LC-1 installed. I wanna try it out but dont want burst my block.

If you have to ask...

I dont know much about Honda engines but if I were you I would start out with a smaller shot and move up so you dont over do it.

u should be fine

MAJORAHOLE 04-10-2009 11:42 AM

jesus, i can't believe noone has chimed in yet with the obvious answer.

---- the Nitrous, up the boost. if you have an lc-1 you should be able to tune it yourself. if you have no experience, then do a little research

darkhorizon 04-10-2009 05:44 PM

If you truely have a built block, IIRC there is not much stopping you from running upwards of 20psi.

cmr333 04-10-2009 07:43 PM

yeah ---- the bottle man, boost is best! put the squirt on a n/a somthing and spray it till it pops.

kevo1586 04-11-2009 08:39 PM

sounds pretty sweet

45psi of fuel is good

I dont have a laptop at the moment, my house burnt down a few weeks ago and I have been putting my families needs first. I had it setup at 15psi at first but the tuner scaled it down to 7psi in the street tune to breakin the engine. I now have 3k miles but hes not tuning anymore and no one wants to tune Turboedit/obd0.

plus my chipped pg7 didnt like the emulator hookup at the tuner so we had to keep reburning chips for reflect changes.

yes I had 15psi at first and on the first wot it blew the mls because i didnt give it time to seal (obviously fixed already). the motor has eagle h beam rods, endyne pistons, arp bolts from top to bottom plus more.

I just figured a little extra power might help me bring home some much needed cash at honda day.

Any know where to find Mark formally from Philly Dyno Works??? Or any OBD0 tuner in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area?

i_heart_my_ef 04-12-2009 01:01 PM

Up the boost. ---- a tune

cmr333 04-12-2009 07:44 PM

well if i were in your position and wanting to go faster i would do some research on this forum for proper afr's, fuel pressure, timing and boost and start turning wrenches. im sure if a laptop is needed you could find one from someone and just do the math. when no one steps up to help, say ---- it and do it your self. that would be way better than slapping a nitrous system in the car and hoping for the winning edge because of a 50 shot

anela44 04-13-2009 01:36 AM

Screw the bottle just up the boost!

90crxdx 04-13-2009 09:46 AM

how much are you making now? just curious

MAJORAHOLE 04-13-2009 11:46 AM

if he allready tuned it @15psi, then you should be able to just crank it back up

Chaos325 04-13-2009 12:28 PM

no it was at 15psi with a xenocron basemap, then tuned at 7psi for engine breakin. went to retune after breakin and the guy got shut down.

BuGS 04-13-2009 01:10 PM

do it!! I would love to get a 50 wet shot kit for the car... but $$ says otherwise!
