Yes, read the Adapter Plate article. All the information on how to make them and what NOT to do is there.

If all else fails, take the two gaskets, and a picture of the a plate from that section to a machine shop and have them whip it up for you. Very simple. Shouldn't take them more than 2 hours.

Re:ADAPTER PLATE

just use any steel plate that fits the bill with regards to thickness.. I have not heard of any specific steel type being used for this.. just plain old steel plate ;)

Re:ADAPTER PLATE

Actually.. old rolled steel, or mild steel would be good.

Re:ADAPTER PLATE

What about stainless? Would it work?

Re:ADAPTER PLATE

We use cold rolled mild steel.. just cheap ----, cost about 3 bucks per plate.

Any steel yard should have this stuff.

Stainless would work, just a bit harder to cut through.

Re:ADAPTER PLATE

I just thought of a question....when you were talking about the studs from a pathfinder, do those go into the manifold and bolt it to the adapter plate? Are they welded on or just bolted through? then the same question for the turbo side of the plate. Thanks

Depends on what kind of plate I am making.. I do studs on the top side on all of them. The studs get drilled and tapped into the plate, then screwed in.

The bottom side can be different, really depends on which turbo.

I think if you re read my article, its pretty clear on where the studs are.

well i just want to show everyone the progress on my homemade adapter plate, looks rough but it is progressing. my bro in law drilled the holes and we tapped them. then we took the plate to muffler lshop and they torched out the center section and the notch they did it for 5 bucks. now i just need ot grind out the center and smooth everything out. slowly but surely hee hee. http://hondaswap.com/gallery/viewima...30821919cb.jpg
