Default Accord Turbo Project - Info Wanted

Hey all , i have a 96 Accord EX w/ f22b1 vtec , im thinking about a junkyard setup and im going to go look tommorrow or the next day .... im wondering what exactly will wit on my car w/ as little modification as possible , ive already heard the dsm manifold will mostly work so i will checkout some eclipse's tommorrow but for the turbo itself , ive heard a few mixed comments about the saab's or the tbird and im wondering which one would best suit this application and if it will direct bolt to the dsm manifold given the port sizes are the same

anyone that is working on this project currently or something similiar please respond as i would like to do this , getting an insurance settlement in the next few days for about 1000 so im hoping i can do it cheaper than this but if not it will be ok ...

any info is VERY appreciated

Thanks , Elite Legends

If you already have a DSM exhaust manifold, easiest route would be to use the same type of DSM turbo that was on the manifold before, that way it'll bolt right up without needing a flange. One thing that I remember reading was that the DSM exhaust manifold match up to an F22A engine but something about it not working for F22B engines.. Your best bet is to compare the ports of the DSM manifold to your stock header ports since you have an aftermarket one on, just to make sure you can use the DSM manifold.

hmmm .... i wonder what would work on the f22b series then w/o me having to buy a greddy or fmax kit

i know about pretty much anything else to do with cars but im new to the whole turbo scene so the info is greatly appreciated ...

also has anybody on this board attempted to turbo an f22b ?
and if i do go with one of the saab turbo's , i would have to actually get a custom exhaust manifold , correct ?

thx in advance

read up on this forum about weld els and you wiil see how people have been makeing DIY manifolds. It sounds bad at first but i thikn you can make a pretty decent manifold this way. I am trying to turbo a F23A and you can imagine that there is nobody else out there doing this, especially a tuneable setup.
