do all inernal gate T3's have that funky 5 bolt housing
i would think so but i'm not sure

theres this one with the 5bolt and 3 bolt flat dp flange
and theres ones with 5 bolt and 3 bolt tapered dp flange


HOWEVER

the flange patterns arent the same.. my new ex housing gate section wont bolt onto my old t3.

so some of the ex housing have seperate gate sections too?

ya.. some of the saab t3's have a hot side thats cast with the gate inside. then youd have to get a whole new housing if the gate cracks. i bought mine off ebay and has the 5 bolt removeable gate section from the turbine housing itself.

so you can take an externel gate T3 and add a internal gate housing??

Just to throw a curve ball, a Nissan T3 has a fucked up 7 bolt flange.

Yeah, the nissan 7 bolts T3 turbine is my preferred. I use it a lot.
The 7 bolts design is superior and as opposed the the 5 bolts ones, the 7 bolts ones RARELY crack across the dump hole.
it's 0.63 a/r though....Sadly, No 0.48 version of this turbine.


That's a blaastperformance t3/T04B 0.63/0.60, 63 "V" Trim. The quickest spooling (non-BB) 400HP turbo I know of.

they have the 5 bolt, 7 bolt, 3 bolt etc (grand nationals/buick T-type), but the mopar 5 bolt is different from the ford 5 bolt. I think there is a bigger version of the ford 5 bolt around somewhere too.

yeah, the larger 5 holes pattern is rare. I think it's from the last batches of t3 saabs.
They obviously are much improved from the standard ford 2.3/saab t3 turbo
