9psi basemap

will a basemap from a turbo b16 on 9lbs run a d16z6 on 5 lbs well? how rich will it run if it will run at all? Should i gap the plugs differently? I have them gapped at .032 now?/ Thanks

Re: 9psi basemap

Not really, but it kinda depends on the turbo cfm flow at boost. Even though they have around the same displacement, b16's flow more cfm through them, so even at idle and part-throttle you'll run dog-rich. Tell me your setup, what size turbo @ what psi, injector size and what ecu and program you want to run...might be able to slap together a .bin for you with a real conservative igniton retard.

Re: 9psi basemap

ok, the ecu came off a b16 crx with following.

t3t4
precision 440s
9lbs

mine will be

same ecu as that
t3 42 48
precision 440's
5 lbs till i get it tuned with hondata.

im just wondering if the car will run.

What ecu do you have?

*L* uh yeah.

Re: 9psi basemap

yea. i just need it to run to get me to the place to tune it.

Re: 9psi basemap

Ouch...that's a big jump. Ok, a little more info then...are you running obd0 or obd1? Is it a pr3 ecu or a pw0?
As far as revlimiter goes, that can be adjusted down so it's not an issue. Knocksensor and 2nd o2 sensor will have to be disabled as well, and this is *hoping* you have one of the good pr3's to use with BRE. You might just be better off going obd1 with a p28 or converted p06. :-\

Re: 9psi basemap

im using a chipped p06 converted to a p28 on my z6. it was on a b16. i just need to be sure my shits gonna at least start with that ecu. or if i should just run the stock ecu till i get there.

Re: 9psi basemap

btw. i am fully converted to obd1

Re: 9psi basemap

Lol...good ----, new tune shouldn't be a problem then. Crome or Uber? If you have a burner you can check out Xeno's bin dump on his site and just put a new .bin on the existing chip. It'll probably start, if you have an adjustable fpr you could try turning it down a little to get you going better.

its chipped for hondata

A chipped ecu is a chipped ecu hondata does nothing special. An eprom with a crome map on will work to same with uberdata.

Re: 9psi basemap

so this means what?

HMTdmc 04-12-2007 06:59 PM

Re: 9psi basemap

You can download a crome or uberdata map thats close to what you have and run that until you can tune it.

Re: 9psi basemap

what kind of plug do i need to connect it to my ecu

HMTdmc 04-12-2007 07:37 PM

Re: 9psi basemap

You'll need a chip burner burn the rom to an eprom and put it in your ecu. You could buy a basemap chip from xenocron for like $5

89shithatch 04-12-2007 07:41 PM

Re: 9psi basemap

and that will plug right into my chipped p06 correct?

HMTdmc 04-12-2007 07:53 PM

Re: 9psi basemap

yup

Re: 9psi basemap

as long as this basemap will run my car i will just drive it to the tuner and have them tune it with my hondata. You think the basemap will be ok since im running less boost and it will be more rich?>

HMTdmc 04-12-2007 08:20 PM

Re: 9psi basemap

It may drive you there. if it'll startup and run sorta smooth it'll probably be fine to get you where you need to go just drive easy and stay out of boost. tunes are weird man you just never know how it's gonna be until you start the car and watch the wideband. I know Ive made basemaps for my personal car just practicing and the engine would barily stay running. it's hit and miss....But Chris has years on me at this stuff. I'd trust a base from him before one of mine.
