is 9 pounds too much?
I finally got me car running and its boosting 9 pounds. It feels so fast :D. Should I just run 9 pounds daily? Im using the carb spring method and my management is afc and msd btm. Oh yeah...the motor (d16a6) has 200,000 miles on it but runs pretty mint. I haven't heard any detonation at all. Thanks.

Re:is 9 pounds too much?
what's the carb spring method?
|
Re:is 9 pounds too much?
just connect a spring to your wastegate flapper and connect it to your block. it works really well...don't even need an actuator. i hope my motor will last for a while at 9psi...it is so god damn fun. :D

OMG, i had the worst time with a god damn spring... Im using a turbonetics actuator for a t3, its working really well.

Re:is 9 pounds too much?
spring sucked for me too....too erratic at different throttle positions

Re:is 9 pounds too much?
Why not? I'm running 13-15psi with the carb spring :-)
9psi is doable, as long as you don't knock or run lean or anything. Proper management is a must. Did I neglect to mention I have a built motor? :-)13psi on a stock bottom end = lots of broken stuff. |
Re:is 9 pounds too much?
lol, dont u have a broken motor right now though? spun bearing?

Re:is 9 pounds too much?
Do you guys think when I hook up my exhaust the boost pressure will drop from 9 to maybe 7? Right now I'm runing open exhaust housing. Thanks
|
Re:is 9 pounds too much?
yea it might drop a little depending on how your exhaust is set up (size, bends, etc.)
