I know a ford thunderbird came stock with the T3 .60/.63 ar turbo. I went to the local junk yard last week and they had an 87 automatic t bird but it had the IHI turbo. Now my question is what year and model thunderbird had the turbo im looking for?

 

your lookin for a 83-86 2.3L turbo ford...a merkur, SVO, thunderturd, will all work...MT's have 63's, AT's have 48's (assuming no swaps have been done)...

 

they are the NON-intercooled models btw....if its intercooled it aint it...

 

intercooled is a ihi rhb52 i believe,
