No thats far too clean to be anything jim built for himself, that was a customers car that he had bought off ebay, never seen before, shipped to us, and built ground up.

No, jims was a twin cam, but not anywhere near the quality of the red one mindy just posted. Ie his was a wiring nightmare. But thats the way he built it. so be it.

The Colt was Mikey's, he also works there.

I had the pleasure of owning/driving the Colt for about 4 months before Michael acquired it. It was only 205whp when I owned it.
The 4A-GTE I assisted in the build, it belonged to a friend of ours and we made it a shop project.
The Quad-Cam MR2s were the first in existence. One was a Widebody that belonged to an ex-employee, the other we built for a customer.

You got to love a girl that holds her own. I respect that.

Dave, Goforth wants to meet you, and you'd obviously love the Toyota trash. When are you, the wife, and the furious midget vacationing in Asheville?

How are the mounts and wiring ???, I did a 3sgte to 3sgte and felt like killing someone; took me about 10 hours. A sohc in a ef takes me about 1.5 hours. :1

Mounts were custom of course actually they were just a combination of mr2/camry/tacoma mounts with a nice pretty 1/2" steel plate on teh timing belt side....the 5VZ/3VZ bolts up to any of the "S" series trannys, the wiring was not easy, but you really only needed massair sig, tps power/sig, coolant temp power/sig, etc. so a lot of the misc tacoma crap was eliminated like the abs sig and k-line.

E-throttle owns you, theres alot of inputs the new e-throttle sys. looks for that we didnt care to/ or want to include on the mr2s. Im sure it could be done, but the 5VZ is an awesome design (in some ways better than the 2JZ) and can handle boost. Its only real weakness is the stock cast pistons, and the weenie factory cams. Very good head design. With the V6 installed, its ACTUALLY EASIER to work on an Mr2!!!
Every V6 swap that has come thru the shop has been boosted. :)

We'd be glad to help, I've wanted to do a 5VZ swap in a GT/GTS chassis for quite some time now, I just cant have another car.

Really only one mount needs significant modification, but requires a custom carrier bearing mount as well for the right hand axle. Unfortunately I dont have anything solid written up on a how-to basis other than CADs for the mount and carrier mount, but those will cost you;)

using a 3vzfe do you still need a new carrier mount? i assume the timing belt side mount is fairly simple, no? I definitely want to do a v6 swap sometime in the future.

I *think you do need the carrier mount and/or depends on the age of the 3vz because i cant remember when/if camrys went to halfshafts. T-belt side is pretty straight forward, with at best some tweeking of the mount ie hammer and angle grinder action.
5vz tbelt side sucks because there was never a mount there in the trucks....
