IIRC he is, but the D is still in it. He's probably going to put it in AFTER it can make more than the D's 568whp Much more. I never knew it had a 'history' as his dad's car. Most people just buy a shell off the street, then slap some parts on it.
That pic is of a T-1 (Tony Palo's) magnetic crank trigger. Rather than use the unit in the Honda dizzy, it's a Hall sensor that reads the magnets machined into the gear. Many other engines use a similar system, except in the flywheel. Its far more accurate than stock, although the stock unit does well, everything considered.
