Default 460 turbo question

i've got a full size truck, and i kinda wanted to turbo charge it

I was gonna copy Cadracers design on his truck.

But i'm not sure what size turbo i'm gonna want to look for,

46..like 5 or 6 .. cubic inch BB ford truck

I wanted to go with a single turbo that spools at about 1500 RPM, ( that's also when the cam kicks in) but is capable of going up until 4800 RPM and still be efficent

Thanks
Nick

I'd go with a decently sized T4.. The T04 on cadracers truck works really well on his SBC 350, I bet you would really like it on a Ford 460. It's gonna be spendy finding 1 big turbo to suite your needs, thats why alot of people do twin setups, because you can use 2 smaller turbos, 2 small t3's would work perfect.

As for " how much power? "

Let's just say, enough to do some intinse burn outs, hill climbs, and go to the strip, all in one day,

I was assuming that i'll have around 350 HP already, and i was only gonna put 5-7 PSI into the motor

i watched cad racers truck take off up the hill at the sop, and for a SMC with 5 psi, and non tuned carb. that thing hauled ***.

I'd like to duplicate his truck, while keeping in mind that i have about 1200lbs more weight than he does
( 4x4 ) ( BBF motor )

i was looking for some turbos on e-gay...but all of them are for the small ..mustangs and 3000dt's..nothing that i saw would work...but then again..i'm no pro

If i went with a dual setup, i'd run out of ideas before i'd even start, turbo placements intercooler charge pipe placment...

i have an 81 f-250 pickup, so whilst keeping in mind that i still have to pass emmisons...unless i get some PO box out in BFN

I also have plastic fender wells that will melt if i place the trubos to close, or if the exhaust flows out near then

Nor can i find a pair of shorty headers for the 460 that would work... i think...

i May end up making my own pair or having some one help me make then..or some thing..

Let me know of any advice

Thanks
Nick

Keep on reading this section. I think a t66 would be nice for your setup. I've seen about 800 hp out of 5.0l mustangs with that turbo.

you are indeed crazy !! i looked at the T66 turbos online......1300 $ ish range..that's nuts no thanks..i'd rather just get a t4 and keep my RPMs down ....that's a hell of alot of money just for the trubo, i just sank 3600 $ into getting my motor rebuilt and assimbled

i know this sounds crazy..well to me it does, i've never heard about this being done, but could i use one side of my exhaust a turbo, and not both ? or would that restrict and make the motor run funky ? ..

Just another dime worht of intrest from the back yard junky
