i just see kia as being a car that is thrown together, and then has a bunch of plastic that will fade in about 5 months convering it.. kinda like every other half ass made car (hyundai) being an example.. i worked with kia's, hyundai's and every other used car you can think of for the last year and a half.. i have personally seen countless times a kia with 10K miles on it that had faded headlights, and 3 of the 4 windows would barely go up, and if they went up they didnt even sit right. i just think, for the money.. honda makes a great hatch that will last forever, and with a setup like that be fast as hell also. lol, just imo . not meaning to be rude. everyone to their own cup of tea.

good luck man

to say kia is a shitty car is a little bit much considering they passed most jap cars in overall quality. i just quit working for a kia dealership and i would honestly buy one if i cared more about their styling. but they are suposed to come out with a 2dr optima turbo. will they idk but if they do i will sign the papers for a turbocharged 100k mile waranty

yah that model should be out by the end of next year RWD option of a v6 and a 4 inline turbo and they will offer 100k warranty on the car even if its modified , news was that hyondai/kia invited 15 aftermarket companys to start building aftermarket parts for the turboed version garett etc. there was a whole article somewhere on the internet

well if you modify a kia only the part affected directly by the modifications will not be covered. say you install an exhaust and your transmission goes. they will still cover it

No wonder you love hondatech, you're the king of useless dickstroking posts.

When is this beast going to be running, I'd like to see numbers.

Spring 09 is when it will be on the road at the soonest. Unfortunatley, Michigan is seasonal and there is no way this will be done and ready to roll by the end of October. That is when most cars get stored around here and the winter beaters come out. Plus I have to squeeze the build time in between all my other spare time. Chassis is getting caged, new front bracing/steel bumper/Dzus Fasteners for the front along with a list of other stuff on the car. The wiring is being re-done (again!) especially once the Megasquirt is finished. This build is designed to push the limits in every aspect.

I should have some updated pics this weekend of the chassis and block.

LOOOOOOOOONG overdue update. Have not touched the car in the last much since I will be moving in another month, let alone the holidays. A ton of parts have come in from the 8-pt. cage to fuel delivery and cell components. I have been too busy to give a recent update. The car has been in the garage a year now, so my hopes are to at least start it sometime this summer. I'm taking advantage of it being up and it is officially the streetable drag car, so nothing is being held back on this build. Over the next few weeks I'lls tart getting a lot more fabrication pics/updates.
