no problem, there are ways to make that hx40 work in your application but it would take me a couple days and some designs to do it, but im sure i could get it done, but if youre happy with it, then run it till it dont run no more!

if it were ONLY that easy, first off by bleeding off all of that useful hot enegetic exhaust gasses he is losing the thermal properties to effectively turn and keep turning that large compressor wheel. different combo swaps of wheels have been tried over and over even by companies like "cheapturbos.com" they have been doing alot of research on swapping some common wheels. and without his turbo being a BB turbo it reall does have lag and will be in constant compressor sure.

besides if youre wastegate bled off ALL the time, if you dont have a good evacuation systme, some of that is gonna end up back into the compressor

I do not have any compressor surge ,when i had a compressor surge it was because of a faulty bov.Trust me runs well I'm gonna hook up a small vid so u can see how it spools right now i'm just worried about pumping hot air in my engine based on wat i've read.

If its surging in boost at WOT a waste gate is going to do nothing. unless you had a waste gate on your charge pipe, lol. What you have to comprehend is, theres boosting. then theres just moving to much god damn air for the motor. Your engine is an air pump, and the purpase of boost is to raise compression points (of course you know this).. the only thing i can think of that would be a resonable example would be like. Would you use a big *** air compressor on a model toy aresol can paint gun? it just wouldent work right. Or trying to use a shovel to eat a bowl of cerial. You might be able to fit an 1/8 of that cerial in your mouth but can you chew it up and swallow it in enough time for the next bite? Engines need to keep an equalibrium Tuning is about keeping homeostasis between all mechanical parts. Yes, big turbos are good, but theres a cut off point where the bigger turbo will start to become a bad thing. Expecialy when its moving enough air to surge. Backspins in compressor surge under a wide open throttle condition is not what your looking for. You need to have a turbo that is matched well to your engine. Both sides, exaust and compressor.. A turbo that can efficently flow enough air to create the power you want without over spooling, having huge lag times, or pushing more cfm's than your engine head can or than the exaust side can handle. Your using a turbo made to push air into a 5.9 liter engine boosting at 20 pounds+ on an engine thats 1.5 liters. and i seirously dont think your going to be able to boost like 10 pounds without it chirping and surging because its pushing to much air. i hope that helps some.

Well to be honest,there is no surge at all it just spools and rips *** I really dont get any wheel spin or nothing it just pulls real hard.The only thing I'm worried about right now is bending a rod cause the the torque curve feels real steeeeep and turbo sounds real good.*I got the turbo off a articulated volvo bus(its one of those 3 piece buses)we have in jamaica.Will thids turbo just pump hot air in my engine and I notice u dont feel from 1-5psi..........but from 5-10psi it makes u wanna ----.
