Here's a pic of my crx with a 33x11x3, 24 inch core. There's about and inch or so above the intercooler so I would imagine that a 12 inch tall intercooler would be do able.

something that tall doesn't flow very well, well idk what's the flow rating on that intercooler? the 31x3x9 one

I have the same fmic...'04 evo8 on mine...mine's tilted towards the back and I had to remove the bumper support to fit it in. Just cut the inside lip of the bumper out and made an angled piece of aluminum to deflect air onto the top of the IC.Attachment 29690

The crx is obviously one of the worst cars as far as crash ratings, but I guess I'd be more worried about weakening the front end. Does the removat of all this material make a large difference in rigidity? I realize the front crossmember is down below, but there's minimal material tying the top portion together. (hood latch crossbar)

Anyone notice unwanted flexing when the bumper support was removed?

European hondas don't have bumber supports like US hondas,
and they drive faster here so the support dont do much. look at it like this you intercooler is your new support, plus it covers more area than the original support

ya im pretty sure that the bumper support is one of those dumbass usdm things that slows are ------- hondas down.... i havent noticed any difference and if your worried about it get a strut bar for the front, that would help stiffen it up. but the crossmember is still there on the crx's
