Does anyone have any tips for installing 3'' exhaust?

Right now my exhaust is only 60mm and it bangs sometimes....I'm concerned a 3'' will have fitment issues.

Does anyone have pics of the WHOLE exhaust preferably on a 92 civic coupe?

 

whats your setup? im trying to decide on an exhaust right now as well..

 

I'm still saving up for my setup.....

NOt sure which manifold I'm gonna run...but I want a t3/t4 either 50 or 54 trim (not xs power ---- turbo)....8 psi...external ebay special wastegate.....some 2.5 or 3"' DP.......greddy type S BOV...johnny racecar 6'' or 8'' FMIC...not sure yet...gotta figure out if 8'' is hard to fit.

I'm going to put an OBX greddy evo style muffler on the piping..they sound great and flow great...look great.....obx can make exhausts pretty well IMO.

Goal is 260-270 whp on 8 psi

Yeah but it's expensive..and LOUD.

 

i am using 3 inches PD back and it`s not banging against anything.
using resnator from RoadRace and a summit turbo muffler.
it`s quiet at idle. and get REALLY quiet when you are boosting(the higher it revs the quiter it gets)..under vaccum it sounds really deep.

 

Do you have any other work done to your engine?

 

dude, a 3" exhaust is going to be loud no matter what muffler you put on it, the only time it's not going to be loud is in boost, but cruising can get pretty bad. why not just run a 3" dp with a cut out going to a stock exhaust? then it will be quiet as hell when you want for cruising, and you can just open up the cut out when you want/need the power, it will be less restrictive than a full 3" exhaust, cost less, and you have the option to be quiet when you want

 

If i were you i would get a magna flow,they have a good selction of oval 3inch mufflers that keep the car at a liveable sound level. I have one so i know, It also sounds alot better than rice cans screaming and it looks like a big stock muffler.oh and the exhaust should clear fine,i run 3inch dp back.
