Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
Well, yes common sense will tell you that, but has anybody actually felt a difference? I highly doubt you could actually feel a difference between any of them. I could see how the 3" could cause a TINY bit of extra lag, but I doubt it would be anything to worry about. Maybe it is? I'd just like to see proof of this.

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
2" wouldn't be cheaper for me because I can get 3" aluminum tubing dirt cheap. But if you say it is gonna hurt me I will just pay the extra. Thanks.

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
i have 2 inch from the turbo to intercooler and 2.5 from intercooler to throttle body...seems to be tits to me and i use a custom coach and a t3 48/60...

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
3 inch piping is gonna be a little harder to run i think

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
10" piping is the best.
|
Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
go with 2.5, any larger is overkill.
|
Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
Not only will 3" cause turbo lag, but it will be very hard to make it fit. Most complete kits use smaller piping, for example DRAG uses 2.25" from turbo to intercooler and 2.5" from intercooler to t-body. I say pay the extra for a little bit smaller piping.

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
unless you have a t3/t4 i would go with 50mm piping, i couldnt imagine having 3" piping, thats insane there no point just look at where the air comes out on the compressor side, you will have lots of lag with that size

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
Aluminum is a much better heat conductor than regular steel, you might have problems with heat soak... good lord ive never seen a turbo car with over a 2.5" charge pipe

Re:3" or 2.5" intercooler piping
so steel would be better than aluminum then. I was going for the weight factor. I never really thought about the heat all that much
