Default 2g dsm t25 setup

alright i think there was a post like this somewhere a while ago but now i reallllly cant find it now, so sorry if im reposting

im about to use the dsm t25 on my z6 probably around 8-9psi. now i know its a small *** turbo and i heard it drops hella power on the top end (is that true? and if so how bad?), so whats the best i can do to compensate for this? what size charge pipes/ downpipe should i use?

and also i heard its alright if i dont use coolent lines for this setup...that true? im just lookin to save money.

Most people use 2.5 for down pipe and IC pipes.
If your engine red lines @ 7500 and it feels like your turbo is running outta power @ 5500...don't shift @ 7500. This is merely an example but use the same concept for your set up.

your boost whould be just about right. t25s loose thier efficiantcy @ over 10psi. anything over that makes the turbo wayy too hot. not a bad turbo to start out with. but if you want more power, try a garret t3 or maybe a 16g. the airresearch t3 from a t-bird or mustang svo whould do nicely. expect a bit more topend with these examples. btw, what size exhaust do you have? is your intake ported and polished? those little things will add up in the performance of your turbo.

and as far as the coolant lines go. small turbo=hot hot hot. if you dont care about you little turbo causing caking, then forgedaboudit. but id personally hook up the lines.

alright thanks guys

but yeah i got a retarded stock exhaust with a test pipe and a gay can my bro put on the end of it. i think ill just go ahead and run this t25 for now with the sidemount intercooler it came with. later ill upgrade to fmic and the 14b i guess. i heard you can just bolt on the 14b as an upgrade to the t25 cuz all the flanges are the same. am i right?

14b is a little bit better of a turbo, but not much. id get a t3 for the same price.
