niiiiice. will this go into production? another question, how much demand would you need to start making mild steel budget ramhorns? looking to purchase a manifold from you guys very soon

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

yey, was wondering if anybody was gonna say something back on these manifolds of mine.
The bottom one, the super elf is in full production and prices can be seen on my website www.bmcrace.com
We are trying to finalize a design for the sidewinder style manifold and as soon as we do you can expect to see those also.

will you be offering the super elf in mild steel for us poor guys? prices are pretty steep for the super elf in stainless

price not hmt friendly. personal opinion the krb KA mani seems similar in design, style and has a more unique touch to it, and costs considerably less.

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

The price of the super elf is subject to change as we perfect the methods of making it. Rght now we have only made one and it took a while to do, as we figure out better more effecient ways to make it and revise the final product the price will drop.

The design of that manifold was finalized years ago.

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

How can you say that for us, we just made that one as our first. When I say finalized Ii mean when we get all angles, measurements, flange postions, and our own unique design done we will offer them for sale, till then they are only custom orders.

Our price on the super elf is not much higher than their price, also ours is much closer to being an actual equal length.

Nobody hates you for being an unoriginal bastard, but it seems every manifold you come out with is a "new custom design" when actually you're just biting everybody elses ----. It'd be cool if you did it and it was considerably cheaper, but that's not the case. This is HMT. Melt your stainless stock.

I think they look good. Good job on the manifolds

im not sure how $460 b-series vs $600 b-series is closely priced, perhaps your website pricing is in error?

ok, so according to what you are saying, i am copying them because they are going over to the side of the engine? i mean if i was to try and build a manifold that is unique in your eyes it would have to have the turbo sitting in the passanger floor board or something.... when i say unique i mean the arrangement of primarys and such....

ummm my price is $500 non ac and $600 ac...... a wopping $40 differnce for an almost equal length manifold....

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

well im looking for a ramhorn not elf . will you be making any ramhorn mild steel budget manifolds?

sgoertz 07-10-2005 10:33 PM

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

no i will not be making any ramhorns. sorry bout that, i guess you could call my super elf a ram skull because the non ac version (doesnt have the crazy wastegate bend, just out the side of the collector, from the side looks like a ram charging or something...

i was like 470% positive that those prices on your site showed $600 and $700 earlier today.

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

Nice design.

But I am still wondering if your making mild steel log manifolds? Budget here.

91efate 07-11-2005 06:15 AM

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

ditto i recall seeing $700-6xx......... too rich for my blood. so when you have mild steel budget elfs we will buy they are overpriced right now not that we for once doubted your quality but when there are so many fierce competitors that would go the extra mile we want to try to keep out up to date and ahead of the game.........helping keep you gettin the business

sgoertz 07-11-2005 07:53 AM

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

You must rember the supply and demand game, right now all my prices have gone up on manifolds because I am in school and dont have the time to make 3 manifolds a day, right now I am only getting to make about 3 manifolds a week. I also have a 2 month back order right now, so when I get out of school, and can start doing manifolds full time again then I should be able to drop some prices, till then my only way to slow people down on buying and for me to pay the bills is to sell everything really high. Also for my super elf, the only other manifolds on the market simular to it are the lovefab eq mini me $700 and the ssautocrome/obx/stonemountain racing for like $200

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

just checked out krb's they are pretty nice. well i guess when you get out of school things will get booming for you but uping the price just to spare a few sales doesn't sound very business minded or fair for that matter

sgoertz 07-11-2005 08:34 AM

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

when you got 8+ customers complaining about their orders taking so long and you have 20 total, the only way to slow down the buisness, pay bills, and get everyones stuff done by not gitting deeper in the hole is to up the price....

sgoertz 07-11-2005 08:36 AM

Re: 2 custom manifolds huge pictures, 56k no way

my price might be slighly higher than others but not by much, I still have very reasonable prices.
if you want low budget boost, get a mild steel log or an adapter plate, if you want something that will support massive hp, you really like to spend money, or like the bling, then buy a nice manifold....

manifolds look good james. nice welds as always.

i think i may soon have to start getting into the mani making business... seems like there is a pretty high demand and you could use some help. ;)

i'd like to see what weir could come up with he usually has some pretty creative ----. hopefully affordable mani's if you start making them

the problem i see with the first one is clearance for a dp and a fan for the radiator. super elf looks damn good though. also i wouldnt call it a sidewinder ;)

we are gonna fab up a new upper rad hose and the little elbow that connects to the head for the h22 setup. the downpipe will go down in between the turbo and the radiator and header wrap the downpipe to cut down on heat, we are putting 2 pusher fans in front of the radiator to make room for this.

ok the new name for it is the sidewinder peg-legged twister manifold, that original enough

james, i admire your work. looks awesome. ---- what people say. there are only so many ways to fab a manifold that will work.

good job, jeep it up.

beautiful work James! however how big is the market for "sidewinder" style manifolds? I dont even think cody sells them anymore? They have always looked really cool, but the whole heat issue, radiator hose relocating, oddball oil returns, downpipes, IC piping etc have made them very un-userfriendly. It just seems this style manifold is just more for "hardcore Race" application?

How much was that collector? looks like a spendy one like Burns

That collector is from spdexhaust.com and cost $300 with all slip connections.
The guy who this is built for is doing his car as a show/race car. It is a fully built h22 in an accord, he plans on getting close to 500whp on pump gas and with his build I'm sure he will get it no problem. I am going to be doing all the fab work for the upper radiator pipe and all also so it makes no differnce to him... I understand what you are saying about the adverage joe wanting a sidewinder but to someone who is willing to do a bit of fab work for themselves they are nice.

oh yah, and THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT! ;D I really appreciate it man

The manifolds look great.

Just a thought I had. Why spend all that time on the unpopular sidewinder when you have people waiting for manifolds for over a month.

Not trying to tell you how to run a businedd, just a sugestion.

The owneer of the Accord, Kim, with the sidewinder manifold has been waiting since January...
