2 blow off valves?
i was wondering if it would be of any help to have 2 bovs 1- a few inches from the TB and another between the compressor outlet and IC. one set high and the other set low. this way at high boost levels the charge pipes are completly expelled of any pressurized air. plus i figure why not when there are $40 bov's on ebay. it'd probably sound cool too(which satisfies the ricer in all of us)
so what do you think?
so what do you think?
thats my point you would set one really hard and the other on soft so 1 works on low boost and both work on hight boost when needed. just an idea that i didn't hear too much about so i figured i'd ask
i think you still don't understand what im proposing not 2 bovs side by side no. one mounted on the charge pipe right before the throttlebody and one mounted right after the turbo compressor housing outlet. therefore one vents the charge piping after the intercooler and one vents it before the intercooler.
Back in my DSM days...people running 30+ psi would break throttle plates in half. Evening running the Tial 50mm, using the lightest spring it was still happening. The solution, run two of 50mm (side by side), or I believe someone even ran two 1g (Crushed as ----) bov's. If your not running 30+ psi I'd say ---- it, save your money and buy some fuel!
Unless you have a lot of volume in your piping (i.e. 3"+) and boosting alot of pressure it wouldn't work.
If you set one bov high and the other low the lower one would be the only one going off. As soon as you close the throttle body the one with the lighter spring will open first and there would be no pressure left to open the high one... If you could somehow set them exactly the same and get them to open together the sound would be quieter, not louder. Because the same amount of air would be rushing out of a larger space at a lower speed. Thus, much quieter. People that run two BOV's do it because they're running so much air that a single one can't flow enough by itself when it opens.

It some twin chamber ---- and like an rfl but with two horns. After much adjustment, it sounds great and fairly loud. Do it buddy and experiment!
