my brother has a focus zx3, MBRP SS exhaust w/ K&N Drop in (makes the same power as a AEM).

Right now I'm running 7 psi boost............the external wastegate spring is set for 8 psi, but with the charge pipes and intercooler I'm getting a 1 psi pressure drop. Actually that's pretty good considering I'm using 2 1/2" charge pipes and a pretty big FMIC. Once I dial in the A/F ratios and ignition timing, I'll see how much boost I can get with 92 octane pump gas. After that, I'm going to set-up a second A/F, timing map for 10-12 psi and race fuel. That's the great thing about the E-Manage/MSD DIS-2 programmable combo.........I can create different maps and save them. One as a daily driver and the other for the track.

The intercooler is a 30" length X 6" height X 3" wide, 8 row, FMIC with 2 1/2" a inlet and outlet. It was the largest size I could fit under the bumper cover without causing clearence problems with the stock foglights.

The only real problem I had to work around was some clearence issues with the oil seperator/PCV valve assembly. You know the one mounted on the front of the engine block. That box sticks out pretty far (about 2 1/2"). I originally planned on using the internal wastegate on the T-3, but there was not enough clearence between the oil seperator/PVC assembly and internal wastegate housing or the wastegate actuator rod. Relocating the turbo manifold flange would put the turbo right up against the radiator......so eventually I had to go with the external wastegate. Other than that, the whole install went pretty smooth.

Good luck on your project..........

BTW.........thanks for the compliments AbaZ.......

Nice setup. Good to see some nice home made stuff.

Are you going to publish the maps you are using with emanage with a wiring diagram how to for zetec?

Thanks Jono83,
I actually have made a pretty detailed
E-Manage "how-to" for the Zetec Cougar.
It includes pictures and the EEC-V PCM to E-Manage wiring.

http://home.hawaii.rr.com/afterhours124/How-to's/E-manage/emanage.doc

The signal amperage from the Ford wasted spark ignition system puts out a spark out (SPOUT) signal that is much too high for the E-Manage to process. If you try to hook up the SPOUT signal directly to the E-Manage, you'll end up frying the E-Manage ignition circuit. You can build an ignition module using a darlington array IC and a Mitsubishi ignitor module, but I think you'd be better off using a seperate ignition control device such as the MSD
DIS-2 programmable ignition controller. There is also the J&S Safe Guard, which is similar to the MSD.......but can also retard ignition timing based on a knock sensor.
