Well I have been on bcsportbikes.com with this for a while and decided to post here.
The quick and dirty.
1999 Yamaha R6
Ko4 turbocharger.
Not looking for comments saying to get a litre bike.
I have a R6. and i want a turbo project.
Progress:
Header mounted. turbo mounted.
Wideband controller wired.
Plenum mounted.
Balance tubes and carbs fitted to plenum.

To do:
-fuel pump
-fuel pressure regulator
-downpipe
-boost gauge, oil pres gauge
-oil return setup. (scavenge pump, turbo is lower than oil level.)
-Charge pipes( possibly done this weekend)
-water cooling is pending decision.

Looks fun I had a 98 GSXR 750 with a t25. Ran 6psi. How much boost plan on running. Internal or external wastegate? Is the 99 R6 carb or FI

just my kind of build. i built 3 turbo bikes. the only difficult problem i see is tuning of the carb system. your fuel pressure must be low enough for the carbs to work when not boosting. once your in boost your fuel pressure must be higher than boost pressure to prevent from running lean. carb turbos are very hard to tune and very unpredictable. do not run more than 6 psi otherwise you will have a boat anchor instead of a bike. :) i turbo'd an 05 gsxr 600 and two gsxr 1000's and by far the 600 turbo was the most fun.

And the carbs will be pretty easy. If you run the balance tubes to the plenum, and run your float boal tubes to a pitot tube in the charge pipe it pressurizes the carb so that it works with boost.
As for fuel, thats why im going with a larger pump and a rising rate fuel pressure regulator,
Run the constant at i believe 3psi which is stock and the rising rate boost dependant will add a extra psi of fuel per psi of boost.
I am going to run 5-6 psi right now. But will be getting parts capable of pushing it up to 10

not really to sure yet. haha its not finished yet. hopefully soon it will be up and running.
And i will let you know how i goes. hopefully i can get 140-150hp at the back tire

shouldnt be a problem making that power. i made 225 at the rear wheel on my 02 gsxr 1000 turbo running 6 lbs of boost.

Ya im curious how much boost this can handle. Right now engine is stock. and going to run 5 psi.
But i want to change the timing, thicker head gasket and stronger internals and try for more.

no more than 6 psi is needed as it will be fast enough. anymore than that and you will need low compression forged pistons, rods and either an intercooler or meth injection. cost of build goes way up after the 6 psi boost mark. not worth it unless your a drag racer or prefer to die.
