Dam, that an ambitious project for sure. No bolt on parts to be found. Looking good so far.

thats badass. i had a neon once and i hated it, but those engines seem like they have a lot of potential. even if it isnt really fast at least it will be fun and you built it. thumbs up from me

never said the work wasnt badass or cool. but spending all that time and money/labor on a neon thats worth far less than the work involved is retarded.

but, to each his own. its still cool what your doing. ( i just hate neons )

Hey I'm not saying the neon would have been my first choice either, but this car has some sentimental value to me now, and I own it. So puttering with it in the garage is much more rewarding to me than making payments on another vehicle with more potential that I won't have any money to build anything with.

especially since all my extra money right now is going to make monster payments on all my bills so my wife and I can afford a house in this over-inflated town.

Damn market value >:(

Thanks all for the props and encouragement. I'll definitely keep you all posted.

Besides all that, not counting the tools, I think I've got somewhere around $975 in this so far. Hopefully the final budget will come in under $1300.00

not bad for fully custom.

like jago said, lets see what you can build.

96turboracer, finishing that thing for $1300 would be tits

Do you realize how moronic you sound? Rarely when people actually put time and money into a car is it justified when looking at the "value" of the car. Which doesn't really mean anything worth a ---- anyways. Value is whatever it's worth to somebody, and his neon is worth something to him, to the point where he *gasp* maybe enjoys??? working on it and doing something that many people would never have the balls to do.

So seriously, sayin stupid ----, "cause it's neon"? Who gives a ----.

I don't mean to flame, but it pisses me off when I see all the work and time he's put into this, and you make a baseless claim that it's "retarded". Oh wait, it's not baseless, I forgot, it's cause you don't like neons. ::)

What throttle body are tou going to use? Since you are running Megasquirt anyway, are you going to use the stock 3800 one?

Can't wait to see the final outcome of this project5. Keep up the awesome work. :6

Thanks for the props.

I'm going to use the same throttle body I've been using for a few years, it's an upgraded 55mm throttle body. It will mount about in the stock location, I'm making the intake tube for it now.

I'll post that up in the next update.
