I'm curious about the auto now have you looked into if it can be built up or upgraded like a mild stall converter and a full manual valve body? that would be pretty tight to if it barked the tires at every gear change. Those Aussies may have developed something like that and the VH45 is a pretty popular engine down under as far as performance development for imports goes

There are some mods that can be done. Manual would be seriously fun but the modded auto would be much cheaper and easier for sure. One small thing I have done is wire up a relay to the wide open throttle switch that disconnects a "dropping resistor" that's on the trans computer. It ups the pressure to the valve body and makes for really solid shifts while under full acceleration. Sometimes I'll disconnect the resistor full time and it shifts solid all the time and will chirp the tires from 1-2 when I'm in that mode. I've been planning to make a little switch panel which will have a switch to disconnect the resistor, stage 1/2 boost, 2-way ECU program switcher, etc. I'm sure it's much harder on the trans but it feels so much better to drive.

I know this thread is old but very nice work I like rear mount setups

Thanks. Still nice to get compliments. Car's still running well although it could use some attention.

My friend is thinking about running a rear mount setup in an 83 trans am (no room in the bay) I was wondering have you ever had any oil problems? (feed/return)

i have a few questions about the build
so do you not need to get a different manifold or anything because your are using your factory throttle body and you are just taking piping exiting the turbo to where the intake would be?
and a intercooler isn't NEEDED but a good option?
and is the most time consuming part of this is the return line for oil scavenger for the rear mount and piping to your throttle body/intake?
