Default 17 year old turbo setup ?

Ok heres the deal im only 17 and im custom buildng a turbo setup 4 may car

heres what im gonna be runnin
drag manifold
T3 turbo
Fmic
tial 35mm wastegate
and some other stuff

ok so thats the basic things i have already exept 4 the manifold

1st question is are drag manifolds any good ive read threads where people say they were crap but never specified whats so crappy about it.

2nd question is what is best 4 engine and fuel management 4 the price i was thinking a vortech FMU with fuel regulator but ive also thought about afc or hondata(but too expensive) and if i do put an FMU in should i get bigger injectors i.e. 330cc or sumthin close because i thought it was better to get bigger injectors rather than increase fuel pressure?

and as 4 my car i have an 93 integra and am planning on runnin around 6-8 psi of boost

just need some help with details

Ive read that the Drag manni. has a tendency to break.I wouldnt run that FMU for more than 6-7 psi.Ive heard of people boosting 10-12 psi on FMU but I wouldnt risk it.You dont need bigger injectors unless you are going to ditch the FMU and use a AFC hack to controll your injectors. You will also need one of those cheap air fuel ratio meters to get an idea of how much fuel you are getting.
If your low on money I would use the FMU.But if you want to boost more I would reccomend getting a V-afc if you have a GSR,or just an AFC if you wave an lS.
Handata is verry good for the price, but in total after tuning you will proabably be looking at about $700 bucks(ouch) for the s 200 w/ boost option, but your engine will live longer!

Well thats just it. it is better to get larger injectors for a turbo setup, rather than increase fuel pressure. Thats why people don't like using FMU's because they increase fuel pressure. But if you feel an AFC is too much to spend, then an FMU will do the job at 6-8 psi. I wouldn't go any higher than that though.
And you don't need bigger injectors with an FMU. You'll be running plenty rich with one of those and the stock injectors.

maybe he was tellin us he is 17 because 17 year olds are poor and on a budget.. and BTW..for those boost levels your running...why not just use the stock internal wastegate. its a lot more simple.

I officially LOVE this site

yeah i told u i was seventeen so youll know that im not the richest person in town and i pride myself on hoping that ill be one of the first people in my area whose under 18 with turbocharged car or atleast a custom built turbocharger

another reason i said that is because ive posted similar threads on other sites and got nothing but insults when they learned i was seventeen but when i read through this site I found that every thread i read (hey that rhymes) wasnt about insults but about trading information, even when the guy showing off his intercooler revealed that it wasnt turbocharged, yeah there were jokes but the whole paged didnt turn into a thread about rice

but anyway back too the topic

so i guess ill go with the FMU and regulator and prolly uprgrade when i get more money 4 more power

and as 4 the wastegate i got the tial because ive heard that an internal wastegate was small and limits wastegate flow in turn making it slow to respond to prssure increases and can cause boost spikes

so 4 me its like since i cant afford another engine its better safe than sorry. ill prolly be ordering a blow off valve too

but does anyone have any recomendations of a good manifold to use?

I LOVE THIS SITE!! (jus had to say it again

no internal wastegate is gonna be to small for boost levels your running.. i think they work great.use a log manifold, you can get someone to make you one, i know members of this site can make them, just ask..I think its cool you only 17 and trying to do some acual performance, not body kits or hugewings to try and impress the ladies. btw... if your really worried about blowing your motor, dont go turbo. There is gonna be a chance something might go wrong, and the chance is a lot higher on boost then N/A.

just buying a body kit costs more than my entire turbo setup.

I think im in the same situation here as TurboHope.

I'm simply going with FMU, fuel pump, stock injectors, fmic, and a 6-7 psi setup using an IHI. Can't really afford the VAFC/DSM 450cc's as I'm only 16 with no job.

typert on the HMT forums, Ted, makes some good Log style manifolds, i'm not to sure as to whether he makes them for b series engines though. $210 shipped, good stuff from what I hear.

ya thats coo your doin a turbo setup now, i'm 19 now and ---- i did to my lowrider truck when i was 16-17 was kinda gay. neons, wire looms, heavy 18" chrome rims (no those were coo). but it did get chicks and that was the purpose.

what is it with rice and chicks? they dig the big bodykits and wierd paint. i hope my 17" rims/cf hood on my rex will bring em in lol, no bodykits for me.

oh ya i have all that bling under the hood too, major points there
